ALAMO is a user-friendly software that simplifies modeling with its spreadsheet-like interface. It offers various input/output formats, graph options, and allows the user to investigate the effect of different basis functions. ALAMO can account for physical and chemical constraints and seamlessly optimizes the modeling process using the BARON optimization solver. It can import data from Excel, Python, MATLAB, or any line of code. ALAMO also comes with several specific examples for various applications and tasks.

Innovation
ALAMO is a machine learning tool that was developed from research at Carnegie Mellon University in 2012 and won the 2016 R&D 100 Award. Originally used exclusively by the U.S. Department of Energy and a group of academics, it has been distributed to over 500 engineers and data scientists from various industries since its commercial launch in 2022. The inventors and developers of ALAMO all have PhDs from top research universities and have worked on applications spanning the automation, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, computer software, and manufacturing sectors.
