BAM data driven optimizer

Welcome, Anonymous

Short Description:

Computer software that optimizes merit functions from simulation or experimental data.

Long Description:

ALAMO (Automatic Learning of Algebraic MOdels) is a computer software that generates algebraic models of black-box systems for which a simulator or experimental setup is available.  The software is particularly adept at determining where to run the simulations or experiments, what models to fit, and how to determine if the model is accurate and as simple as possible.  Models generated by ALAMO can be used to facilitate subsequent system analysis, optimization, and decision making.

ALAMO is available to students and faculty at no cost for academic teaching and research.

ALAMO can:

  • build an algebraic model of a simulation or experimental black-box system

  • use previously collected data for model building

  • call a user-specified (simulation) function to collect measurements

  • enforce response variable bounds, physical limits, and boundary conditions

  • use a pre-existing data set for model validation

  • produce the simplest possible algebraic models accurately describing the data.
